The t shirt company was off to an amazing start. We had Phillies products on the way, a bunch of preorders and we had the best team in baseball, or so i thought.
The t shirts were supposed to be available the 1st day of the playoffs so that we could ride the wave and our success was contingent on the Phillies playing well and making it to the world series.
Well here we are on Oct.8th and the artwork wasn't given to the printer in time to produce them for the 1st round and the Phillies are out of the playoffs. Now what??? Im sitting here with 200 blanks and nothing to print on them. Should I be mad at myself for not putting more pressure on the artist to get the artwork in on time, be mad at Ryan Howard and the Phillies for another dissappointing season or should I be mad that somehow we missed the wave(a short wave) regardless of the reasons?
Either way we are back at the drawing board and we have to pick it up. So what did we learn from this miscue? Put more pressure on the artists? Be more prepared? Or don't bank on a Philly team winning a championship? I guess its all 3 as well as being prepared for your opportunities before they arrive. ALWAYS BE PREPARED!!!
And only bank on Philadelphia winning championships as often as Haleys Comet comes around, I guess about once every 76 years.
I think you should still print the shirts. It's a hot graphic, regardless of the season being over.
ReplyDeleteThanks and I think you are right. I am going to have to do a run of them. It just going to be a smaller run. More exclusive. And we always have next year!
